IOS bug

Security Issue Notice IOS 13:

A security issue with IOS 13 has been revealed. Our advice is to hold off updating to the latest version until this is resolved. Apple should have resolved this issue by IOS 13.1 which is due to be released in the coming weeks. A security researcher Jose Rodriguez (via The Verge) has highlighted how the contacts list can be accessed even when the device is on the lock screen (So locked). This issue is in the final gold release of IOS which is the final consumer/OEM version.

How the issue works: You simply initiate a face-time call from the phones lock screen or use SIRI to ask for the devices contact list. From here access is granted with no further checks. This allows an attacker to reveal personal information such as phone numbers, social media profiles, email addresses, date of birth, full names and even the users street address.

iOS 13 is compatible with the following devices

But whenever you opt to update to iOS 13, you'll need to make sure you have a device that's compatible with the new OS.

Here are the all the iPhones that are getting iOS 13. In addition, it will come to the 7th-generation iPod Touch.

  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone Xs
  • iPhone Xs Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE

IOS 13 unsupported devices.

It won't come to older devices that support up to iOS 12: iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and mini 3. This means devices running the older IOS 12.4 could be vulnerable to security issues and bugs that wont be patched in the future. If you are using a device for business it advised to upgrade your iPhone model to a later version. We would recommend anything above an iPhone 7 at current.
