If you're an iPhone user, you will probably know how to perform a force reset if your phone is playing up. To do this on all iPhones (up to the 7 and 7 Plus) all you need to do is hold down both the power/lock button and the home button together for a few seconds, and then a white screen with the Apple logo will appear.

However. if you're new to the Apple family and have just bought an iPhone 7, or if you've just upgraded you might be very confused why the usual method isn't working...

Due to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus' home button not really being a button, but a sensor, it means that you can't actually press it down. The new way however, is just as easy.

All you have to do is press and hold the power/lock button along with the volume down button for a few seconds. You will then see a white screen with the Apple logo, meaning your phone has been reset.
